Leaked police logs revealed that, when looking for missing child, Manuel, three Rotterdam police officers saw pimp and child trafficker, Lothar Glandorf with a boy who looked like him, yet they did nothing; instead, they asked for advice form senior officers, but received none, allowing Glandorf to drive away with the boy.
Werkgroep Morkhoven member, Gina Pardaens-Bernaer made a copy of one of the Zanvoort CDs (CP) and sent it to the International Committee for the Dignity of a Child (CIDE), who sent it to INTERPOL. After this, she started receiving threatening calls that she would die in a car accident and in person threats from assailants; her son was bumped by a car while riding his bike; and she was followed by an unmarked car, a grey Mercedes registered to a former driver of the bar Dolo, which was the Brussels headquarters of Jean-Michel Nihoul, Belgian business magnate and ring leader in the Dutroux network. Bernear had told colleagues that on one of the Apollo discs, she had seen a young girl, believed to be Katrien De Cuyper, being raped by an associate of Nihoul.
Her house was broken into; the next day, a day before she was scheduled to appear for questioning by the Belgian police, she crashed her car into a bridge pillar, killing her; this cause of death is consistent with many others involved in investigating the Dutroux network.
In 1999, Werkgreop Morkhoven sent several copies of the CD roms to the Belgian King, Albert II, his attorney general and members of the French government. French President Jeaque Chirac's office acknowledged that they had received them, sending them to the minister justice. But in 2000, Minister of Justice, Elisibeth Guigou claimed she had never received the disc; after an investigation, a dismissal of the entire case was issued in 2002, followed by a dismissal without further action in 2003. In 2008, the Belgian Attorney General told the press that all the evidence relating to the Apollo network had gone missing.
Werkgreop Morkhoven's dossier, sent to prosecutor, Michel Bourlet and leaked by WikiLeaks, stated that Marc Detroux frequented a club in Amsterdam called G-Force, as well as two porn studios called Rex productions and Roxanne films. G-Force was owned by an American called John Edward Mullaney, linked to John Stanford's Sparticus network through a company called Corper and Lorver.
John Edward Mullaney is also connected to a man named Karel Maaxdam through another company called Adonis Roxanne, which was located in a building owned by Diddier Pellerin, who had been interviewed by investigators back in 1996 regarding Mark Dutroux; investigators at the time confirmed that a woman named Marlene DeCokere had worked there; Marlene was Michel Nihoul's mistress.
An associate of Lothar Glandorf's, named Peter Goetjes was involved in kidnapping boys across the Dutch-German border; he said that Manuel Shadwald's biological father, Rainer Wolf, had sold him to the network.
Later, sources within the Dutch intelligence agency provided details that Shadwald had been killed on a yacht called Der Apollo, owned by Gerrit-Jan Ulruch and his business partner, a Dutch accountant named Leo van Gasselt.
A 2015 article titled The Lost Children reported the following: ''If what several informants described to the Algemeen Dagblad and the Welt am Sonntag is true, then something terrible happened on this boat. Then, it was the place where a boy, Manuel Shadwald, lost his life. A few rich customers from politics and society gathered there to hold a s*x o**y with several children in front of the camera. Then, after the crime, the ship was towed to a Dutch Navy military port and cleaned. It is unclear what became of the film footage. In fact, the suspicion was also confirmed by a Dutch intelligence officer who was willing to talk about the case just a few days ago: 'Manuel Schadwald died playing games on this boat,' he says. This is also documented in the files of the Dutch Secret Service. The body was then sunk into the sea." And he also says that the case was covered up because high-ranking people were involved. He doesn't say why he's breaking his silence now.''
It was later determined that this was the film that Gina Pardaens-Bernaer has seen, and it was called Der Giftzwerg, (The Poison Dwarf) distributed by Gero Video.
Warwick Spinks - Warwick Spinks was a supplier for the Apollo network and Sparticus network. As he approached the end of his five year sentence for raping two homeless boys in Amsterdam, he was transferred from prison to a probation hostel in London, where he was asked to fill in a form so the police could enter his details on the new register of offenders; Spinks refused, walking away from the hostel, later sending his probation officer a postcard with an invitation to see him in Amsterdam.
The investigation into Warwick Spinks and a CP production company called TAG films in 1993 led the German police to raid a video distributor in Dusseldorf, Germany where Gero Video was located; Gero Video changed hands that same year and was identified as a CP producer in a dossier provided by Karel Maaxdam's accountant to Dutch intelligence services.
Manuel's father, Rainer Wolf had been an intelligence asset for the Stasi, who used him to infiltrate various peace movements.
A former liaison officer between the Stasi and the KGB, Wanja Gotz then stated in an affidavit: ''I was commissioned by the GDR Secret Service to psychologically assess this man. It was only much later that I found out that after his move to the Federal Republic of Germany in 1984, orchestrated by the Stasi, Rainer Wolf blackmailed Western Europeans with CP on behalf of the GDR Secret Service's Foreign Espionage Service."
The former head of West German intelligence during this period, Bernard Schmidbauer suggested that Marc Dutroux himself may have 'also worked for a time on behalf of the Stasi: "There were indeed indications that such information could be found in the Stasi material that was leaked to the American Secret Service, the CIA. The Belgian Secret Service would be well advised to evaluate these documents thoroughly. During the turning point, the CIA was able to secure extensive materials about the espionage department of the MFS reconnaissance headquarters. Because of the explosive nature of the information contained within those files, also the information about compromised Western European politicians, these documents are still withheld from the public.''
