Misinfo/Disinfo (Mainstream media lying)

Iran lies

Operation Trojan - In 1986 the Mossad planted a radio transmitter in Libya, broadcasting false reports tricking Reagan into bombing the country. The mass media was completely behind it and never explained why.

Jessica Lynch - Jessica Lynch was an American soldier who was captured by the Iraqis. Although she has always maintained that she was treated well in the hospital she was being kept at, author Rick Bragg, insisted in her biography that she had suppressed a memory of being raped by her captors; this notion was also reported by mainstream news outlets like the BBC and the NYT.

Gaddafi - One of the media's lies was that Gaddafi ordered his soldiers to rape the rebels. This story was repeated over and over, but according to Donatella Rovira, a senior crisis advisor for Amnesty International: "We could not find any evidence or a single victim of rape or a doctor who knew about somebody being raped." The Women's Rights Division of Human Rights Watch confirmed that "We have not been able to find any evidence."

Trump as a Russian agent - For years, mainstream outlets promoted the conspiracy that Putin fixed the 2016 election because Trump was on Russia's payroll. After being elected, Trump began actively arming the Ukrainian military; in 2018, he delivered 210 Javelin anti-tank missiles and 37 command launch units to Ukraine; then in 2019, he pulled out of a nuclear missile treaty between America and Russia that had been in place since the Cold War.

NYT - The NYT initially published a false report claiming that Shireen Abu Akleh, a US citizen and Christian Palestinian-American journalist murdered by the IFD, had been killed during an exchange of gunfire between the IDF and Palestinian militants, even though the Alazer article they cited as the story's source contained no such claim.

Pizzagate basement - James Alefantis tried to save-face by alleging to CBS and the BBC: ''We don't even have a basement,'' as if that was the main issue. Not two years prior, in 2015, Alefantis told Metro Weekly: ''We harvest a whole crop of organic tomatoes, ten tons of tomatoes every year, can them all, store them in the basement...'' Comet Ping Pong had never moved locations.

Gun Range - In 2019, ABC aired a video from a night-time shooting event at a Kentucky gun range, claiming it was footage of Syria fighting the Kurds after Trump pulled US forces.

Hunter laptop - In 2020, 51 former senior US intelligence officials, including former CIA directors and officials from multiple administrations, signed a public open letter stating that the New York Post's story regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop had "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation", even though it had pictures of him on it.

Professor Wyner  - Professor (((Abraham Wyner))) published a statistical analysis downsizing the Gaza death toll. Wyner assumed that daily reports reflected real-time events on the ground, meaning strikes should create massive daily variance. In active combat zones, hospitals and morgues do not report bodies the moment a strike happens; instead, bureaucracy creates a processing bottleneck. Because a maxed-out administrative system can only process and verify a certain number of identity cards or death certificates per-day, the daily data reflects the capacity of the tracking system, not the fluctuating intensity of the bombardment.

''Thank you Trump'' - When the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation started, it was accompanied with a propaganda push, showing videos of Palestinians getting food, thanking Trump and claiming Hamas starves them. Those featured in these videos were criminal gang members under Yasser Abu Shabab, who raids food trucks for the Israelis.

Zakariya Ayyoub al-Matou - Even though there are countless awful pictures of Gazan children starving to death, or having starved to death, Zionists honed in on one, pointing out that they had cerebral palsy, as if a one off picture was creating the illusion of a famine. This propaganda op relies on targets assuming, as articles shilling it imply, that cerebral palsy makes you emaciated. Anyone with common knowledge should know that it doesn't, as it's a neurological and physical disability.

Zakariya al-Matou having cerebral palsy had nothing to do with him being emaciated, and wearing a trash bag as a diaper; this was a result of an engineered famine caused by Israel's blockade. Besides, any attempt at denial is redundant given how many other pictures there are of Gazans, younger, and in worse health or dead.

Pipe rockets - Videos of pipes being dug up by Hamas to make rockets were used to blame Gaza's water being cut off on Hamas. The pipes in question belonged to abandoned Israeli settlements in Gaza, a reminder that the Israeli government had provided water systems to their illegal settlers, while depriving Palestinians living right next to the them of access to water.

“Hamas admitted Gaza death toll was fake'' - There was a Jerusalem Post article titled Hamas admits 72% of combat-aged fatalities are men, quietly reduces civilian death toll – report. The so-called 'research' cited came from Andrew Fox, who published a report titled “Questionable counting” for the Henry Jackson Society think-tank. Fox, who has been taken on guest trips by the Israeli Military, was found to have made allegations in his report that Action On Armed Violence (AOAV), a London-based NGO, said “lacks evidence for key claims.” AOAV’s investigation into Fox’s claims concluded that “no important implications flow from his findings.” While it acknowledges that Fox found errors in the Gaza Health Ministry’s reports, they were minor and sometimes even worked against Fox’s conclusions One of the central claims that Fox made is that Gaza’s Health Ministry listed male as female casualties in order “to inflate female fatalities”. The AOAV concluded the following about this allegation: “Fox reports only evidence that supports a narrative of intentional data manipulation by the MoH [Ministry of Health], while more comprehensive analysis is more suggestive of random error. Thus, while men are misclassified as women, women are also misclassified as men. A review of over 21,000 entries (53% of the total) from the most recent list published in October shows that of 116 entries with a likely misclassified sex (roughly 0.5% of the sample), 67 are men listed as women and 49 are women listed as men”

Honest Reporting’s 'research' was posted as a thread on X by Aizenberg, who stated:  “Hamas’ new March 2025 fatality list quietly drops 3,400 fully “identified” deaths listed in its Aug & Oct 2024 reports, including 1,080 children. These “deaths” never happened. The numbers were falsified, again.” However, when Sky News looked into these allegations and questioned the Gaza Health Ministry about amendments to its death toll data, it clarified that some 1,852 people had been removed from its official war fatalities since October, refuting Aizenberg’s figures.

Central to this campaign to undermine the Gaza death toll is the allegation that its Health Ministry includes combatants and deaths from natural causes to inflate the numbers of civilians killed. Yet, as was revealed by Sky News, the Gaza Health Ministry does not even consider people who died from heart attacks or conditions like hypothermia, due to the conflict, in their toll. In fact, many of the revisions to the death toll have occurred due to the fact that family members of the deceased in Gaza are able to fill out a form to register the death of a loved one. Sometimes, people will register a death that they personally deemed to be war related, but the Health Ministry does not, as they were an indirect war death.

Perhaps the most outrageous falsehood is the percentage of combat-aged fatalities propagated by the Jerusalem Post. In the article itself, it is written that: “Approximately 72% of fatalities between the ages of 13-55 are men, the demographic category aligns with Hamas combatants.” However, the headline states that: “Hamas admits 72% of combat-aged fatalities are men”. If you read the article itself it makes it clear that its claim is based upon a definition of “combat-aged fatalities,” including children. Yet, if you read the headline alone, a screenshot of which is what went viral online, it makes the claim that “72% of combat-aged fatalities are men”. This is a lie, even given the definition provided in the article itself defining a 13-year-old as “combat-aged”. Reuters reported on the revision of the statistics issued by the Gaza Health Ministry, confirming ''nearly a third of the dead under 18''.

Pallywood - Pallywood is an X account which posts videos of Jews pretending to be Arabs, holding obviously fake dolls with blood on them to give the impression off that Palestinians hoax atrocities.

'Doll' - In 2023, media outlet ran a story titled Al Jazeera posts blurred doll, claims it to be a dead Palestinian baby“. After the claim was thoroughly debunked and the baby’s identity was revealed, the Jerusalem Post was pressured to take the story down, however their retraction never mentioned the article in question.

''1:1'' - The overarching agenda of downplaying the Gaza death toll is to try and support the notion that Israel has killed civilians and combatants at a ratio of 1:1. The Israeli military currently claims to have killed 20,000 Hamas fighters, which still wouldn’t make the death toll 1:1; there is no evidence put forth by Israel to even conduct such an investigation.

''No Famine In Gaza'' - Israel's tactic to show that there was no starvation in Gaza? Random videos of people inside malls in Gaza from before the war.

Protective Edge - Three Israeli teenagers were captured and executed by Palestinian militants in 2014. The Israeli military launched a fake rescue mission, despite knowing that the boys were already dead. The massive air-war that ensued destroyed 18,000 homes in Gaza and killed thousands of people in.

Al-wafa Hospital bombing - During Protective Edge, the only rehabilitation center in Gaza, Alwafa Hospital, was completely destroyed. To justify this, Israel tweeted a fake photo alleging to show a rocket being fired from the hospital; according to Amnesty International, the image tweeted by the Israeli military does not match satellite images of the Alwafa hospital and appears to depict a different location.

Al Shifa Hospital - An alleged tunnel under Al Shifa hospital, was in fact a water reservoir.

Whitney Webb - Not an example of elite disinfo, but bad due-diligence at best on her part, undermining the record on J. Edgar Hoover's cross-dressing, something which has already been pieced together.

Melina Asadi - During the failed insurrection in Iran, rioters shot and killed 3-year-old Melina Asadi. This was reported as a killing by the regime although her father said she was killed by the insurgents. Footage of dead police were also reported as civilians killed by the Iranian authorities, even though Iranian media had released the footage.

Generative AI for Good - A group called Generative AI for Good, run by an Israeli woman named Shiran Mlamdovsky Somech, is putting out realistic AI videos of fake Iranian rape victims giving testimonies. They admit in the posts that the videos are fake, presumably in hopes that they'll end up getting spread around anyway without any context.
