Background
With how little there actually was to tie Oswald to the murder, and with the threat of him blowing his cover as an intelligence operative, someone needed to come in to give the case a nice clean ending. But who was Jack Ruby?
Jack was part of what some might call the Kosher Nostra in Chicago, but had been sent to Dallas with his sister to run the Carousell Club, where he would photograph members of the Dallas police with strippers for blackmail. Ruby's contacts were Hyman Larner out of Chicago, who was the real boss of Sam Giancana. The Kaufafa hearings reveal that he had even worked for Richard Nixon at a time. Ruby was involved in trafficking arms to Cuba under the alias Jack La Rue, someone Robert Kennedy was looking for during his mob hearings. He was also using the alias to facilitate the sale of devalued pasos on international markets to help Myer Lansky to recover from the losses he had suffered after Castro took over the Casinos. This is backed up by narcotics officer Jack Revill, and detective Richard Clark, who claimed that he had regularly used Ruby as an informant. FBI agent Charles Flyn confirmed this officially. We also know from interview with Gerry Hemming, that Ruby was involved in gun smuggling to Israel. (𓃠)
Ruby was in debt to the mob and had been diagnosed with cancer in the 50s. Here was a man who had nothing to lose.
Timeline
Ruby's pay off - According to an FBI memo, in the weeks prior to the JFK assassination, Ruby had been paid off by Mob accountant Allan Dorfman. (𓃠)
Sighting with "Oswald" - Waitress Mary Lawrence told investigators that she had seen Lee Harvey Oswald and Jack Ruby meet and speak for an hour at Lucas B&B restaurant. They had also been seen together at a diner with Jack Valenti, and at the Carousel Club with David Ferrie.
Ruby had met with Johnny Roselli in motel rooms twice in 1963, both times being observed by the FBI. One of the federal investigators probing Roselli's murder 13 years later came across an FBI report on these meetings, confidentially relaying their contents to reporter, William Malone. Roselli himself told Washington Post columnist, Jack Anderson in 1976 that underworld conspirators feared that Oswald might disclose their involvement in the JFK assassination, prompting Ruby to eliminate him. (𓃠)
On November 24th 1963, J Edger Hoover wrote, “need something to convince the public that Oswald is the real assassin”. Nicholas Katzenbach wrote back, “The public must be satisfied that Oswald was the assassin; that he had no confederates who are still at large; and that evidence was such that he would have been convicted at trial”. This memo also states that on the morning the day Oswald get’s shot, the FBI field office in Dallas received a phone call from a man “saying he was a member of a committee organized to kill Oswald.” Billy Grammer, a Dallas police officer and dispatcher, recounted that in the early morning hours before Lee Harvey Oswald was killed, he received a suspicious phone call at the police station. The caller, who refused to identify himself, warned that unless the plans for Oswald’s transfer were changed, “we are going to kill him” in the basement of the Dallas Police Department. The caller demonstrated detailed knowledge of the transfer plans, which were not publicly known at the time. Grammer later stated that the voice on the call sounded like Jack Ruby, who he had spoken with earlier that night at the station. When asked to identify himself, the caller said, “I can’t tell you that, but you know me,” (𓃠)
Ruby gives Jada a lift - At 10:45 am, Charles Burns, would be struck by a white Cadillac while crossing Atwell St. The driver of the vehicle, whom burns stated was a female named "Comforto" was in a hurry to leave the city. Burns said that she gave him the impression that she was a dancer. She called a man who arrived at the scene. She told him "lets hurry up and get this over with, I have got to get to new Orleans" The woman involved was Janet Conferto otherwise known as Jada, one of Rack Ruby's dancers.
Ruby's truck - around 11:00 am, Julia Ann Mercer was stuck in traffic on Elm Street behind a green pickup truck driven by a man she later identified as Jack Ruby. (J. David Truby, five who live in fear, June 7, 1977) She observed a younger man retrieve a rifle case from the pickup bed, then walk over to the grassy knoll. The truck was also seen by officers Brown and Murphy (Dallas Police, Statement of Julie Ann Mercer, November 22, 1963, the portal to Texas history). Officer Stringer investigated it with the motor running, north of the alley behind the Texas Theatre.
Ruby's Oswald witnesses - At 1:35 an Oswald was in Jefferson avenue in front of Hardy's shoe store, where he is seen by manager Johnny Bower and tommy Rowe. Tommy row was a friend of jack ruby and and moved into his apartment after his arrest. Rowe told relatives that he pointed out Oswald. (Midlothian mirror, amazing coincidence, august 26, 1971).
Ruby claimed that he was watching the assassination from inside the Dallas Morning news building, but the person photographed is his brother Samuel providing an alibi for him. Jack couldn't have been at the morning news building because he was seen at Parkland Hospital by reporter Seth Cantle. He even told FBI informant, Bob Vanderslice, that he needed to be out there to watch the fireworks.
Ruby in the Theatre - George Applin was in the the theater when Oswald was arrested. He told reporter Earl Golz that at the time Oswald was being apprehended, a man sat down in front of him and to watch the struggle between Oswald and the police. He tapped this man on the shoulder, advising him to move because Oswald's gun was waving around. To this the man looked at him and looked back at the scene unfolding. After Oswald’s death, Applin would later identify this man as having been Jack Ruby. (DMN - man believes he saw ruby at scene of Oswald arrest).
The Call - At 2:37 PM, just after Oswald's arrest, Ruby made a call to Al Gruber. Al Gruber was the right hand man of West Coast Jewish gangster, Mickey Cohen. Jack Ruby had bragged about his relationship with Mickey Cohen, and was banging his girlfriend, Candy Barr. You know who else was banging Candy Barr, future Israeli Prime Minister, Menachem Begin, leader of Irgun, and a specialist of false flag terrorism.
Begin and Shamir were in LA three weeks before the assassination, meeting with Al Gruber, who Ruby called before killing Oswald. Gruber also met with Jack Ruby in Dallas three weeks before the assassination. Mickey Cohen's memoirs reveal that he smuggled weapons to Irgun and was in contact with Menachem Begin. He wrote: "Now I got so engrossed with Israel that I actually pushed aside a lot of my activities and done nothing but what was involved with the Irgun war." (𓃠)
Former detective, Gary Wean, observed a meeting between Ruby's lawyer, Melvin Beli, Menachem Begin, Yitzakh Shamir and Mickey Cohen at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel three weeks before the assassination. (gary wean – fish in the court house)
Gruber also met with Jack Ruby in Dallas, three weeks before the assassination, right after meeting with Begin and Shamir.
Ruby with Yitzakh Rhabin - As we know, the head of the IDF’s Operations Directorate and future Israeli Prime Minister, Yitzakh Rhabin was in Dallas on the day of the assassination. At midnight on the same day, Jack Ruby can be seen with a similar looking man while pretending to be a Yiddish translator for Israeli news at the DA’s press conference.
Sam Bloom, who owned the Dal-Tex building, and had invited Kennedy to Dallas, would suggest that the police make Oswald accessible to the press. He also suggested, against the explicit advice of the local FBI, that they move the alleged assassin from the Dallas police station to the Dallas county jail, in order to give the news men a good story and pictures. It was during this transfer that Oswald was shot by Ruby.
Karen Carlin - According to secret service agent Roger Warner, Karen Carlin: “...was extremely agitated and reluctant to make any statement to him… She stated that she was under the impression that Lee Harvey Oswald, Jack Ruby and other individuals unknown to her, were involved in a plot to assassinate President Kennedy and that she would be killed if she gave any information to the authorities…. She twisted in her chair, stammered in her speech, and seemed on the point of hysteria.” She got a $25 dollar money order sent to her by Jack Ruby on the morning Ruby shoots Oswald. This was Ruby’s alibi for being on his way to the Western Union office in downtown Dallas to wire the money. But the following Monday (page 6) was payday for Carlin. She said she was not pressed about paying this money to her landlord (page 8). So since this is an obvious string of lies we know that this was Ruby’s alibi and excuse to place him to shoot Oswald and cover up for any co-conspirators that were involved.
Post Arrest
According to a note that a 1967 Newsweek article, Ruby wrote to his attorney Joseph Tonahill: “Joe, you should know this. My first lawyer Tom Howard told me to say that I shot Oswald so that Caroline and Mrs. Kennedy wouldn't have to come to Dallas to testify.
After failing to get him out of prison for killing Oswald, Jack Ruby started threatening LBJ, insisting on being brought to Washington, adding: "there will be a certain tragic occurrence happening if you don't take my testimony and somehow vindicate me, so my people don't suffer because of what I have done. He said that he feared that his act would be used to create some falsehood about some of the Jewish faith, but that maybe something can be saved if our president, Lyndon Johnson knew the truth from me.
After a press conference in 1965 he directly implied Johnson's involvement, stating: "I was part of a big political conspiracy... I want to correct what I stated before about the vice president... what I mentioned about Adlai Stevenson... if he was vice president, there would never have been an assassination of our beloved president Kennedy... the answer is the man in office now.
The Warren Commission includes Jack Ruby stating: "it goes all the way to the top" and "I can't tell you what happened, there'll be a pogrom on my people." The Houston chronicle reported Ruby saying that "he and others would be responsible for the deaths of 25 million Jews if the truth came out." (𓃠) Later he said the world would never know, not would they believe what took place here. Take me to Washington DC and I will tell all that I know. I cannot say anything here. I am the only owe left who can tell you anything.
At a press conference, Ruby Said: "Everything pertaining to what's happening has never come to the surface. The world will never know the true facts of what occurred, my motives. The people who had so much to gain, and had such an ulterior motive for putting me in the position I'm in, will never let the true facts come above board to the world."
When asked if the people in question wer still in the current population, Ruby replied "Yes"
Ruby's full statement to the Warren commission was leaked to journalist Dorothy Kilgallen, and published in the New York Journal American in 1964. Kilgallen had interviewed Ruby, and boasted about being about to break the real story, and publish the biggest scoop in the century. Kilgallen was later found dead from an overdose of barbiturates and alcohol.
Ruby's defense lawyer William Kunstler wrote, in his memoir that Ruby told him he had "killed Oswald for the Jews". (𓃠) Ruby's Rabi Hillel Silverman received the same confession while visiting him in jail: "I interrupted Silverman at that point, as I’d read other reports in which Ruby said he did it “to show that Jews had guts.” The rabbi sighed. “Yes, he mentioned that. But I don’t like to mention it. I think he said, ‘I did it for the Jewish people.’ But I’ve tried to wipe that statement from my mind.” (𓃠)
Recent documents reveal Ruby rambling about “big Jews” saving him,—claiming that “they” told him to “take care of it.”(Warren Commission Exhibit 2025-278 (Ruby’s Jailhouse Talk)
