The Finders

In 1987 an anonymous caller reporterted a sighting to the Tallahassee Police Department of two men overseeing six children in a playground. When they police took them in, the two men Michael Houlihan and Douglas Ammerman said they were the childrens teachers and that they were taking them to Mexico to a 'school for briliant children'.

The children were identified by fake names: Mary Houlihan, Max Livingston, Benjamin Franklin, Honeybee Evans, B.B. and John Paul Houlihan. Five of the six children wer uncomunicative, were unfamiliar with modern technology, such as hot water or electricity, and were unable to use a toilet.

Mary was the only one able to talk. When asked what her last name was, she repplied: ''which one?'' When asked what the two men taught them, she responded: ''how to play games,'' and that they would receive instructions from the ''game caller'' in exhange for rewards, by which she meant food. The children mainly survived on a raw fruit and vegitable diet and were visibly malnurished. Upon medical exhamination it was found that Max lacked anal Sphinctr control, consistant with sodomy, and Mary showed signs of vaginal penitration by fingers.; John had bite marks on his arm.

Tallahassee police contacted the DC police to learn that the group were known as the finders. According to a Washington Post article at the time, records from the US districtt court in Washington showed that an anonymous confidential source told authorities that the group was a cult that conducted brainwashing techniques, saying they wer recruited with promises of ''financial reward and sexual gratification''.

The informant gave the DC police two properties which they raided, finding CP, including children in chains and photos of children slaughtering a goat with three men wearing white robes. Neighbours confirmed that the children lived at the apartment building in question and that only women and chidlren lived there, but that they woudl occasionally see men visit the house, and that the children were so dirty that they were easy to notice.

Evidence found in a vehicle pointed to a Virginia farm owned by George Marion Pettie, (The Game Caller) who had military intelligence connections, who commanded other Finders members. Neighbors at the farm said that children were often brought there in vans, and that they heard screaming and crying as if they were bing hurt.

Among the items seized were files detailing the Finders' activities in London, Germany, The Bahamas, Costa Rica, and Japan, as well as a file titled ''Pentagon Break In''; a telex contained a purchase order for two children from Hong Kong to be arranged for a contact at the Chinese embassy. They also found files outlining various methods for aquiring children including purchasing, trading, kidnapping and impregnating female members of the group; and a summery of the Tallehasse arrest and how to move children while avoiding arrest.

Cover-up

Despite evidence of sexual abuse and indication of a child trafficking network, lead investigator Rick Huffman officially ended the Tallahassee Police Department’s investigation into The Finders. Huffman did not mention the reports of sexual abuse by doctors with HRS. The release of the TPD documents add more evidence to the theory that agencies within the federal government covered up the crimes of The Finders.

In 1993 when US News and World Report reported that the Department of Justice was initiating a new investigation into allegations that the CIA was somehow connected to The Finders cult and had worked to cover up the case. US Customs Agent Ramon Martinez, as well as local police officers in Tallahassee, had spent the previous years attempting to alert the authorities to the apparent cover up.

After interviewing dozens of people directly involved in the case and reviewing hundreds of documents, the DOJ concluded there was no evidence of child abuse or trafficking, satanic cult activity, or law enforcement complicity.

Customs Agent Ramon Martinez, who raided the Finders' warehouse, says that when he went back to view the evidence, he was blocked from doing so and told it was a CIA matter. Martinez told researcher Derrick Broze: “Nothing’s ever come of any info I’ve provided over the years, except professional grief. I have no delusions of anyone ever being held accountable for what I know happened.”

Intelligence connection

The group's leader, George Marion Pettie, the afformentioned Game Callerhad military intelligence connections; his mother was a CIA employee and one of his sons worked for Air America, which famously trafficked drugs for the CIA. Memos reveal that Pettie was recruited in 1946 for coutner intelligence training in Boltimore, receiving further intelligence training in George town and Frankfurst, Germany in the 50s, later roaming europe recruiting a network of agents, from there allegedly leaving intelligence to start the Finders.

In October 2019, the FBI began releasing 100’s of pages of previously unreleased documents relating to the Finders. The 1987 investigative report stated that a CIA agent had confirmed that the agency was sending its personelto Future Enterprises for training and operatinos, that the CIA owned that organization as a front for domestic computer training, but that ''it had gone bad.'' On page 66 of the first FBI document dump, there's a page from the Washington Metropolitan Police Department’s investigation into The Finders titled Summary: “It is this writers belief that the Finders organization is and has been utilized by the CIA as a disinformation service spreading non-essential, non-critical information to various organizations throughout the United States and overseas... I do not think that child abuse was a planned tactic of this group, but as in any cross section of society, sick and demented subjects belong to a cult as well. I do believe the shaping of the children is a planned experiment of this group as in the case of the Nazi’s they strove for a perfect society, thereby in their own way they tried to form a group of children and ultimately adults that did not suffer from the ill’s of normal society.”

The unknown law enforcement officer who wrote the report also stated that it was his belief that the Finders did not disband, but “as reported in their master plan” have only “appeared to disband to prevent further detection from law enforcement and social service officials”. The officer concludes his summary by calling for the Finders to be monitored.
