America gave Yemen aide and weapons to fight al-Qaeda, but they just used it on Ansar Alluh. (The Houthis). In 2012, President Ali Abdullah Saleh stepped down, defecting to Saudi Arabia, and his American backed VP took over. But then, Ali Abdullah Saleh switched sides and joined the Houthis, taking the capital.
A month later, Obama's war of terror began, later joined by Saudi Arabia, which used American supplied f35s and f23s to bomb Yemen.
In 2013, the US mis-targeted a wedding convoy near the town of Rada'a in the Al-Bayda Governorate of Yemen, killing 15 and injuring many.
Separately, distinct mass-casualty events in the Yemeni Civil War involved Saudi-led coalition airstrikes utilizing US-supplied munitions on civilian gatherings, including a devastating funeral hall bombing in Sana'a in 2016.
Abdulrahman al-Awlaki was a 16-year-old US citizen born in Denver, Colorado. He was killed on October 14, 2011, by a US military drone strike in an open-air restaurant in Yemen, two weeks after a separate American drone strike killed his father, Anwar al-Awlaki
Independent monitoring groups estimate that US counter-terrorism and drone strikes authorized by President Obama in Yemen killed between 115 and 225 civilians.
Starvation - The Saudi-led military coalition implemented air and naval blockades while targeting food production in Yemen. These actions restricted vital commercial imports and humanitarian aide. The strategy drove a severe man-made hunger crisis and pushed millions of Yemenis to the edge of famine. The coalition restricted entry at key ports like Hodeidah, stopping essential shipments of food, fuel, and medical supplies. Airstrikes hit farms, marketplaces, fishing boats and food storage sites; this damaged local food production and internal distribution networks. Restrictions on fuel imports stopped delivery trucks and disabled generators at hospitals and water plants. Millions of people faced extreme hunger, and hundreds of thousands of young children suffered from severe acute malnutrition.
Aggression against Yemen has caused an estimated 377,000 deaths from both direct and indirect causes. The vast majority of these losses are civilians, with children under the age of five making up a tragic 70% of the total casualties.
