Gur Megiddo - When Haaretz reporter, Gur Megiddo, tried to publish an article about Israeli intelligence operations against the ICC, an Israeli security official summoned him to his office and discouraged him from posting the article, with threats of torture: "I was explained that if I publish the story, I would suffer the consequences and get to know the interrogation rooms of the Israeli security authorities from the inside."
Quiet part out loud - During the congreessional hearinf preceeding the Tik Tok ban in 2024, Ted Cruz grilled TikTok's CEO Shou Zi Chew, stating: ''...in the United States, you are promoting to kids, self harm videos... [long pause] and anti-Israel Propaganda.''
Tik Tok - Asaf Hackman (the former IDF Unit 8200 member) is Tik Tok's global head of product strategy and operations as of 2021.
During the congreessional hearing preceeding the Tik Tok ban in 2024, Ted Cruz grilled TikTok's CEO Shou Zi Chew, stating: ''...in the United States, you are promoting to kids, self harm videos... [long pause] and anti-Israel Propaganda.''
In 2026, Tik Tok was forcebly sold by the US to a consortium of pro-Israel investors. The public story presented by politicians starting years earlier was that Tik Tok was a threat to the national security of the United States because it allowed the Chinese government too much access to Americans private information and influence over their media consumption. But according to the primary authors and sponsors of the bill requiring bite dance to relinquish its ownership of Tik Tok, the real reason Congress approved the bill was because Tik Tok wasn't censoring enough criticism of Israel. Powerful Zionists realized that for the first time in American history, young Americans had access to an unmediated view into Israel's treatment of Palestinians during their war on Gaza without the filter of biased American media coverage. And by 2024, young Americans were consistently voicing levels of anti-Israel and pro Palestine sentiment that were unprecedented in American history. Tik Tok's Chinese owners clearly understood the real rationale behind the push to sell when in July 2025 they hired a former IDF soldier named Erica Mindel and installed her as their new public policy manager tasked with developing the company's hate speech and censorship policies. But even this show of difference proved insufficient for the Zionist lobby.
In May of 2024, during a forum with then Secretary of State Tony Blinken, Utah Senator Mitt Romney dropped the pretense of concern over Chinese spying completely and explicitly linked Congress's passage of the Tik Tok bill to the platform's tolerance of anti-Israel speech: ''Yeah. A small parenthetical point which is some wonder why there was such overwhelming support uh for us to shut down potentially Tik Tok or other entities of that nature. If you look at the uh postings on Tik Tok and the number of mentions of Palestinians relative to other social media sites, it's overwhelmingly so among Tik Tok um uh broadcast. So I'd uh I know that's of of real interest and the president will get the chance to to make action in that regard.
During a February 2025 panel at the Munich Security Conference, the Tik Tok bill's main author and sponsor, former Wisconsin Representative and current Palantir executive Mike Gallagher, told what he called the real story behind the Tik Tok bill: ''...we stole the senator's work. Uh and he did a lot of the sincerely a lot of Yeoman's work in in in drafting an initial bill. We were able to sort of learn from that experience. We refined the approach. We worked with him. We worked with the executive branch. So, we had a bipartisan consensus. We had the executive branch. But the bill was still dead until October 7th and people started to see a bunch of anti-semitic um content on the platform and our bill had legs again. And then there was a huge miscalculation by Tik Tok. When it became apparent that we were going to pass it out of committee, they forced sort of a popup on the app that allowed people to call their members of Congress and kids were calling into their members of Congress during school hours threatening to commit suicide if Tik Tok went away. And for those of us who were concerned about the use of this platform for propaganda purposes or brainwashing, it sort of proved the point in the moment and suddenly the bill test. So, it was the threat of espionage, the threat of propaganda, the good work of Senator Warner, um, and a few other players that all conspired.''
So, to be clear, he's saying that various members of Congress had been trying to pass a bill forcing Chinese divestment from Tik Tok for years, but the plan was dead in the water until US public opinion started to turn against Israel, a trend which Israeli and American officials openly blamed on Tik Tok's algorithm. And who ended up buying the forfeited Chinese shares of Tik Tok? The primary investors in the deal included Oracle and Andre Horowitz. Oracle is Larry Ellison's company. Oracle is his company and Oracle's board includes people like Saffra Catz, the company's former CEO, who in 2021 told Oracle employees: "I love my employees, and if they don't agree with our mission to support the state of Israel, then maybe we aren't the right company for them. Larry Ellison and I are publicly committed to Israel.'' The co-owner of Andre Horowitz, Ben Horowitz, is the son of infamous neoonservative activist David Horowitz, considered one of the Bush era's most famous anti-Muslim activists and who was responsible for some of the earliest Zionist pressure campaigns targeting American universities for allowing criticism of Israel.
